Standard 7.1 Equipment and tools used in the architectural drawing & design program must have all safety devices in place, operable, and in current use.

CNC Mill has a safety stop. Laser cutter has prominent warnings and also a safety stop. Students using these machines are trained to know what to do in the case of an emergency.
Standard 7.2 The tools and equipment used in the architectural drawing & design program should be current and reflect the program goals and performance objectives. Sufficient tools and equipment must be in good repair and be available for student use during lab hours. The tools and equipment should meet industry quality standards.

Room layout shows location of traditional drafting tools, computers, other peripherals used in the drafting program.
Standard 7.3 Sufficient consumable supplies should be readily available to assure continuous instruction. Inventory of supplies should be available for inspection.

Most consumable supplies are kept in the cabinets located in the work room space and the drafting cabinets. Supplies will be made available to student when needed. Also as seen in photos of drafting tool cabinets with the previous standard.
Standard 7.4 A preventive maintenance schedule is documented for all equipment should be used to minimize equipment down-time.
Supportive comments/documentation:
Notes are kept on maintenance. All computer and peripheral maintenance is scheduled through the “Helpdesk Assistant” for the local technician to remedy. All of those work requests are recorded with work requests indicating the start of request to when the work request is closed.
Standard 7.5 A systematic schedule for replacement should be used to maintain up-to-date tools and equipment at industry and safety standards. Advisory board input should be used in this system.

The drafting lab is designed for 31 workstations with two teacher workstations. Lab computers are refreshed through periodic funding. The current computers were refreshed in the 2016/17 school year through SPLOST IV funding and typically were specified to support cad software for a 5-year period. The warranty expires April 22, 2021.
Standard 7.6 An inventory system should be used to account for tools, equipment, and supplies.

The drafting lab has storage for all consumables and traditional tools used in instruction. all media is also appropriately stored.
