Standard 2.1 Positive administrative support from institutional and local administrative bodies should be demonstrated. Indicators of administrative support would include: support for staff in-service training; provision of appropriate facilities; up-to-date tools, equipment, and training support materials.

Standard 2.2 Equipment, supplies, travel, and training budgets for the program for the preceding two years must show an ongoing support for the program.

24 additional monitors were added to have all 31 student workstations with the ability to have dual monitor usage in end of Fall of 2018.
The addition of a laser cutter machine was purchased in the fall of 2018 for the the learning of building 3D objects from CAD produced designs and other 2D applications.
A more versatile 3D Printer was provided to support additive manufacturing learning in 2018.

I attended various training programs and conference to support my program such as collaboration with other teachers and sharing best practices in summer conferences. The experiences to SkillsUSA conferences/championships provide an invaluable resource to help with recruitment and participation.

Standard 2.3 Interviews during the on-site visit with the program head, principal or chief school officer, and the chief district officer shall indicate ongoing support for the program.

Standard 2.4 Written policies should be adopted by the administration and policy board for use in decision-making situations and to provide guidance in achieving the program goals. Policies regarding safety, liability, and lab operation should be written and prominently displayed as well as provided to all students and instructors.

Written policies regarding student and institutional responsibilities have been developed and approved by Cobb County School District and approved by the Cobb County Board of Education. Standard 2.5 An advisory committee must convene at least four times a year and be utilized to provide counsel, assistance, and information from the community served by the training program. This committee should be broadly based and must include the following: employed design drafters, local employers (3 minimum), the school’s Work-Based Learning Coordinator, and the school counselor.

Standard 2.7 An organized plan should be used to provide the public with information regarding the profession, the training program, its graduates, its plans, and any services provided to the community.

Integration of the SkillsUSA framework is taught and understood during classroom instruction and with activities after school through the Program of Work. The Program of work is developed each year allowing students to see the plan and organize the year of activities and eventually showcase through a specific documentation process for the public and evaporators to review. Students in my program have the opportunity to experience and apply the classroom topics with program of work activities as SkillsUSA members.
Promotional posters, on display in the hallway or hung on bulletin boards are regularly produced displaying program success of students not only with drafting students but other CTE pathway students as well.
A number of students organized and conducted service activities from first responder recognition, food drives and feeder school presentations, see the Chapter of Excellence Program Activities for the details of three examples.

Standard 2.8 The program should have a written policy, approved by the administrator of the school, on first aid procedures. The policy should provide detailed procedures to be followed when addressing a first aid emergency and should be well-communicated to all students and instructors.
A phone is accessible in the class lab and a First Aid Kit is located within the class lab’s workroom by the sink as marked. The First Aid Kid is replaced or replenished annually.
Field trips require completion of permission and release forms in case of emergency and other related liabilities.
